The Studio
Experience
My guitar experience began with the generation that invented the garage
band.
This is the garage.
Our developing interest in rock,
blues and jazz put us to work in night clubs. At the age of 17 I began
teaching in a music store owned by Spud Goodall. I learned a lot from
Spud. (video) While still in my teens, the
recordings of Andres Segovia changed my direction to classical guitar.
Master classes with Segovia, Julian Bream and Pepe Romero established
the foundation for thirty years of teaching at Trinity University. My
private studio now gives me the opportunity to share these experiences
Segovia with students in
1964.

PHILOSOPHY
My role as guitar teacher is to demonstrate enthusiasm for guitar playing.
My desire is to keep lessons interesting, challenging and achievable.
Students are encouraged to play music they like and to like new music.
The goal is a relationship with music that continues to be stimulating.
Scheduling
The studio is available seven days a week. One regular time each week
is selected from available space. The number of lessons per month may
vary due to months that offer five lessons, extra time needed, lessons
missed for holidays or personal reasons. Lesson times may be changed
or made up. Make ups are requested to be made during the month of the
missed lesson.
Tuition
Support for this studio comes from students like you. Tuition is $90
per month for enrollment on the schedule for one thirty minute lesson
or $180 for one hour lesson per week. Payment is requested in advance
for the month. Your tuition also includes music, CDs of the music and
the opportunity to record your own CD.
